    Default hotmail does not work on chrome

    Just wanted to let people know that the hotmail text box(where you write your email) does not work on Chrome. It doesn't let you write any text in it. I have all four browsers, ie, firefox, opera, and chrome, and this is only the case in chrome.

    I do not use Hotmail a lot but tried it out of disbelief.
    And you are right it is NOT working.
    I confirm the problem also...

    Guys just update your chrome version and it would work. Remember chrome is still in beta so there might be some bugs like this.

    version: 0.4.154.33
    Today as well google released a bug-fix version in the dev channel and it fixes the issue while composing mails and switching between folders in Hotmail. Since Hotmail still does not quite properly recognise Chrome, so to use the site with minimum bugs with hotmail you have to add the following code to the Google Chrome Shortcut you use to launch Google Chrome.

    --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1 Safari/525.19"
    Steps:

    • Right Click on the Google Chrome Shortcut
    • Click on Properties
    • Copy-Paste the above code at the end of the Target File and click OK.

    Dear Google and Microsoft,

    Knowledge and Access empower people; in fact, it can even save their lives.

    Imagine one of your less technical loved ones could not access life saving information stored in their online email account for ubiquitous, worldwide safe-keeping. And then, multiply this by millions of everyday people who are just trying to stay educated, avoid economic and healthcare catastrophe and perhaps you might stop this pissing contest of small boys and girls and the high power politics of greed.

    Get your lawyers (or not), agree on the obvious Constitutional Preamble: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union (UNION OF GOD'S RULE OF ORDER or Compatibility), establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

    And then, maybe people will hate less, love people and the technology of people more.

    Why do you feel the need to bring god up in a technical conversation?

    What does the Constitution have to do with software compatability?

    Found new way to fix this.

    1. Click Tools
    2. Options
    3. Under the Hood
    4. Scroll down to "Change Proxy Settings"
    5. Click "Security" tab
    6. Set "Security levels for this zone" to Medium
    7. OK
    8. Close

    This fixed it for me. i could go to my inbox, deleted etc. i can now also writ e-mails and send them.

    What version of Chrome are you guys using,

    If it is the latest Stable, Beta or Dev release and you are still having problems, Click this link and post the Bug that you guys are having. A bug like this really needs to be posted on their issues list. Cause thats how things get fixed.

    Otherwise, update to the latest Chrome Version and it *Should* work.
